Tank Magazine

I have been selected by a fashion publication, Tank magazine, for my “work placement” in London. All I am asking for is to figure out if magazines are as great as I think; fashion magazines have always been my first choice for my career but a wonderful experience in Public relations at Chanel and a dying publication industry truly question this. Tank magazine is a British upscale fashion magazine with a global readership published every three months. It was founded not so long ago in 1998; it is young and fresh. The magazine is meant to be “informed, articulate and original;” notably working with as much with established than emerging talents. It is located in the heart of London close to Oxford Circus which is pretty exciting.
Young and dynamic, Tank Publications Ltd launched Because Magazine in 2009, an online fashion magazine: “digital fashion magazine” looking what I would call the future of the publishing industry. Thanks to Because Magazine anyone is one click away from modern online purchases and interactive technology.

London College of Fashion

During my stay in London, the class and I are going to follow courses specially organized for us at the London College of Fashion. Part of the “University of London”, the London College of Fashion is the most fashion focused UK college with an extensive choice of fashion specialized curriculums as diversified as the fashion industry itself; it favors creativity with the help of highly experienced industry professionals that are mostly still working in the industry itself and thus have been keeping track of its fast evolution.

For example our teachers not only teach but have kept careers within the industry. In the core of London at Oxford Circus with outside buildings “too” similar to the FIT ones, the London College of Fashion has much to teach us not only about fashion but also about British culture. The great team there seems to have organize everything to help FIT students get the most out of their London stay; I am excited to follow classes that are most probably more fashion (my passion) focused than AMC FIT courses and help broader world’s perspective; last FIT Thursday and Friday visits really predict a positive outcome.
